Our Programs

Marching Band For over 60 years the Pride of Prattville Marching Band has demonstrated excellence in performance all over the Southeastern United States.

Whether it's the Prattville High School Marching Band stepping down the field andsupporting the best football team and coaching staff in the state, or the concert bands giving another masterful performance, Prattville continues its rich musical tradition year after year.

Wind Symphony is the top concert ensemble at Prattville High, made up of approximately 70 of the best wind and percussion students at PHS. The Wind wind symphonySymphony was created in 2004 and received in first Superior rating at State Festival in twenty five years under the direction of Mr. Bowman. The Wind Symphony generally plays music on a grade VI level, and has placed nearly 30 in the Alabama All-State Band in two years. The Prattville High School Wind Symphony is looking forward to a great history that it will make for itself. The goal of the Wind Symphony is to be one of the top performing high school ensembles in the Southeastern United States.

Symphonic Band is the second concert ensemble atPHS, with approximately 75 students. The Symphonic Band generally plays grade IV music, and has become an outstanding ensembleunder Mr. Grant's direction. This is a testament to the excellence in instructionand ability of the Symphonic Band. Most recently, the band received a Superior rating and placed second overall at the 2006 All-Star Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.

Concert Band is the third band at PHS and is taught by Mr. Bowman and Mr. Grant. It consists of about 80 students. Even though it is the third band at PHS, it still participates in District and State Festivals. This band teaches students the techniques and exposes them to much more advanced literature.

Jazz Band meets after school and performs on all the concerts. It is open to anyone who plays Alto or Tenor Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Piano, Bass Guitar, Guitar, and Drums. Auditions are held after marching band.

Percussion Ensemble meets second semester and is made up of all of the percussion students in the Prattville High School bands. Including working on concert band literature, this group focuses on percussion ensemble literature as well. Orchestral percussion technique is a primary focus where students will learn proper technique on all of the percussive instruments. This class is taught by Mr. Grant.
